From piston-engine to SWingEngine

In actual fact the piston engines could be made much more efficient by using electronic components. Components like fuel injection systems and catalytic converters and various filters have led to optimization of fuel consumption and particles.

With the introduction of a geometric changed intake and valve control as well as exhaust turbo chargers with supercharged air the performance was substantially improved till a kind of downsizing was achieved.
Nowadays one uses i.e. instead four cylinder engine with relative small displacement and high power rather than a six cylinder engine.

In future it may be possible to change the compression ratio mechanically in order to achieve a reduction of fuel consumption.

The improvement was the introduction of the four geared automatic gearbox.
By using these measures the development potential has been narrowed down such that there is very little room for further improvement, which was the case in early 1970`s. That is how in the last 30 years high tech engines have been developed on the principle of the piston engine. The piston engine will not be able to be used in future for the complete range of vehicles.

Due to the reason of rapidly changing requirement new types of drive trains are necessary.
The quick and efficient introduction of the emission free Electric engine in vehicles is till date still questionable. Rather a combination of a combustion engine and electric engine in form of a hybrid drive which unites the advantages of both concepts seems more likely to be successful. That is why the combustion engine and the 100 years old piston engine needs not to be discarded.

Moreover it needs to be examined if they are alternatives to a three or a four cylinder high tech piston engine, which can be produced more cost effective , more compact and lighter in weight to fit into city vehicles and vehicles in the lower middle class.

The SWingEngine is this excellent alternative!
